What is SPAD about?
As our annual signature event, SMU PAW Animal Day (SPAD) is an exciting blend of fun, educational and meaningful activities aiming to raise awareness on many facets of animal welfare.
Through collaboration with numerous animal welfare beneficiaries, experts and partners, we will be bringing you a host of sharing sessions, workshops, videos, fundraisers and contests to spark change for the voiceless! Causes we are championing include responsible pet ownership, supporting the local animal welfare scene, peaceful coexistence with animals in the community, as well as the impact of our consumer habits on wildlife.
Even amidst the ongoing pandemic, there is no stopping us. Join us for some “PAWsome Adventures in DesPAWrate times”!❤️

Workshops
Here are some sneak peaks on what workshops we are bringing to you!
How to Stop Bleeding in Pets
Basic Grooming:
Low-Stress Grooming
2nd September 2021, 7.30pm to 8.45pm
3rd & 4th September 2021, 10am to 11.30am
As a PAWrent, it is important for us to be prepared with basic first aid knowledge to take care of our precious furbabies.
Join us with Maggie, the founder of "Dog First Aid" Organisation as she conducts a first aid lesson on how to stop bleeding in your pets.
Follow along with the live demonstration with your furbaby as a unique bonding activity while putting the lesson to practice!
Have you tried grooming your cat or dog at home but they are just too fidgety or anxious?
Learn how you can keep grooming low-stress at home from Bubbly Petz, a grooming studio that believes the mental wellbeing of our furry friends is as essential as caring for their grooming needs.
By the end of the workshop, you will understand :
- The link between pet grooming and training.
- How to introduce grooming procedures in a low stress manner.
- How to read body language and identify stress signals, AND MANY MORE!
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to our partnered Animal Wellfare Groups! 😉
